- The focus of this article is on a small but significant religious community, the (Herrnhuter) brothers' community and its special gender-specific membership organization. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the brothers' congregations had many municipalities throughout Europe as well as in different colonies and is still active today. The following is about the place of origin Herrnhut in Oberlausitz in the middle of the 18th century.
